In a report from Oxford, Miss.-based real estate information technology company, FNC Inc, San Antonio saw a 2 percent price increase in the time between January 2007 and January 2013. While that number may seem low, the fact is San Antonio was 1 of only 4 of the 30 markets tracked to show an improvement (Houston was also on this list). Other cities didn’t fare so well. Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, and Riverside, California all saw price declines of 50 percent or more. Once again, the Texas housing market shines. In this case, San Antonio is in the spotlight but people are also flocking to buy new homes in Austin, custom homes in Houston, and are turning to home builders in Bastrop to check out new construction there as well.
CastleRock builds homes and communities in each of these areas. Call 713-600-7000 to find out about available new homes in San Antonio, or upcoming projects and new construction in Houston, Austin and Bastrop....Read Less

Everything is modern and up-to-date. Appliances are top of the line, fixtures are stylish, color and décor are perfection; but what if it’s not quite perfection to you. Maybe something is missing in your eyes. Maybe it’s beautiful, but it needs a few extra touches to make it feel just a little bit more like your family’s new home. That’s where a CastleRock custom home comes in.
When you purchase a new home through CastleRock, your purchase includes 4 to 6 hours of professional design service. This means you can take that time to work with a design specialist who can help you turn your new home into your very own custom home.

What is the home builder’s history?
How long has your builder been in the industry? Do they have satisfied customers? The management team at CastleRock has more than 50 years experience in homebuilding and community development. To view what our customers have to say about our new homes in Austin, San Antonio, Bastrop or Houston, visit our testimonials page.
What brands/products does the builder use when building a new home? At CastleRock, we work with GE, Energy Star, and LP Tech Shield products, just to name a few. Your home builder should work with quality products as well.
What kind of warranty does your home builder offer?
Check to make sure the warranty meets your needs. A two year limited warranty and ten year major structural limited warranty work well.
Do you have the option to customize your new home?
You’ll want to check on this if you have some design ideas of your own. At CastleRock, we have a design gallery where customers can come to discuss their needs, whether they’re looking for a custom home in San Antonio or Houston, or a new home in Bastrop or Austin. CastleRock customers receive 4 to 6 hours of professional design services with the purchase of their home.
What is the price range on the builder’s new homes?
Make sure the price range fits your needs. If you’re looking for a new home in the low 100’s, you might be looking at building in a different area than someone looking for a home in the 250’s.
Does your home builder offer mortgage services?
Hiring a home builder who can also accommodate your mortgage needs is a definite plus. That’s why we have CastleRock Mortgage. At CastleRock our goal is to make the home-buying process an enjoyable one. We believe having your own personal loan officer on hand is a part of that.

Let’s take new construction in Austin as an example. Much of Austin’s construction is residential, of course, but the big news these days is about Apple’s multi-million dollar expansion. Phase one of the project, which calls for 200,000 total square feet from two buildings, is currently underway. It will be completed by 2015 and will cost $56 million.
But that’s only part of it. After phase one is finished Apple will move onto phase two, which will add another 800,000 square feet in the form of several buildings. By 2021 the entire project will be complete.
If you’re wondering how or why this interests Austin homebuilders, the answer is simple: jobs. Apple’s $304 million overall expansion will create 3,600 jobs in Austin, and if history is any teacher we can expect this increase to create an even higher level of interest in home ownership. Job growth and home ownership tend to go hand in hand. Job security gives people the confidence to follow their dreams of buying or building their own home.
New construction in general is always a good sign as it means the economy is on an upswing. The Apple expansion in Austin is especially good for Travis County as it is expected to generate $15 million in benefits over the 15-year term of Apple’s contract with the county....Read Less
